  1. What is Self-Paced Training?
Self-Paced Training is a training class delivered to you in a recorded format. Once you register for the class you are given the information to access the recorded lectures. You may watch the lectures at any time and take up to six months to complete the class.

  2. How long are the recorded lectures and how many lectures does each class contain?
Each lecture is 1.5 to 2 hours in duration. Complete classes contain eight or twelve lectures depending on which class you purchase.

  3. Which specific classes are available in Self-Paced format?
LC/MS Fundamentals and Applications, Mass Spectral Interpretation, and Peptide and Protein Characterization with Mass Spectrometry.

  4. How do I ask questions?
You may e-mail or phone the instructor at any time with questions.

  5. Can I go back and watch a lecture again?
You have full access to all the lectures for the entire course. You may watch any one lecture as many times as you wish and you can re-wind and fast forward the lectures as well.

  6. What printed material do I receive?
You will receive a complete course manual and, for some classes, additional printed material is provided as well.

  7. Does my access to the recorded lectures expire after a certain amount of time?
The expiration date for the lectures is largely up to you. Once you have completed the class to your satisfaction we ask you to notify us so that we may send you a certificate of completion for the course. If we do not hear from you, your access will expire six months from the date of purchase.

  8. May I give my access information to a colleague so they can also watch the lectures?
When you purchase the course you have purchased one individual license for access to the material. Giving the access information to another person is a violation of the purchase agreement and can result in termination of your access account. If you wish to have multiple persons attending a Self-Paced Training class simultaneously simply contact us and we will work out a multi-seat license for you.

  9. Can I download and/or copy the lectures?
Generally speaking it is not possible to download or copy the lectures. However, even if you have a means to do this it is a violation of copyright law. If you wish to share the lectures with colleagues, as stated in Answer No. 8 above, we can work out a license which allows for this.

  10. What computer hardware do I need to participate in Self-Paced Training?
A relatively recent vintage computer and a high speed Internet connection are all you need. No special software is required other than your Internet browser. Your browser software should be a current version. You can listen to the lectures with your computer speakers or with a headset.

  11. Do I need a telephone connection to listen to the audio?
You do not need a telephone connection to listen to the recorded lectures—only your computer speakers or headset.

  12. Is there any cost to my company for the web connection?
There is no cost for the web connection time while listening to the lectures.

  13. Can you customize a self-paced training program exclusively for my company?
If you wish to do a customized course for you company over the Internet we will present it as a Live-on-the-Web course over a period of several weeks. Each lecture will be recorded, meaning, for those who cannot attend the live sessions, the recordings will be available just as they are for Self-Paced Training.
